An old, but apt fable:
A scorpion wants to cross a river but cannot swim, so it asks a frog to carry it across. The frog hesitates, afraid that the scorpion might sting it, but the scorpion promises not to, pointing out that it would drown if it killed the frog in the middle of the river. The frog considers this argument sensible and agrees to transport the scorpion. Midway across the river, the scorpion stings the frog anyway, dooming them both. The Pod Boys remain insufferable pricks. Hunter is right about them, and he’s right about his dad.
The elites never really understood Joe Biden. They looked down on the old man from Delaware because he wasn’t one of them. He didn’t kiss the ring, chase the spotlight, or sell out his constituents for a few dollars.
He went home to his kids. He kept his word. He did the work. And that’s what eats at Vietor, Axelrod, Favreau, and the rest of that crowd.
Joe Biden got more done in four years than their guy did in eight. And let’s be honest, a lot of what their guy got done as president happened because Joe Biden had the relationships, the trust, and the ability to turn handshakes into votes.
That’s the truth they hate.
