One third of nurses on my unit did not work d/t COVID. We worked extremely short w/tremendous workloads, unsafe conditions, compromised patient safety, med errors, moral distress, no breaks & fatigue. Hands up if you believe nurses (& patients) deserve better. Call/write your MPP

Nurse EXPECTED to work 8-12 hr day shifts in a row, w/two back to back shifts b/c the same nurse is on call from 7pm to 7 am. This means if called in for a night shift while on call, must keep working day shift! 24 hrs! How is this safe?@ontarionurses @collegeofnurses

Four days the 80 yo woman laid in ER, vomiting, unable to walk, weak & frail. Four dam days! There were NO nurses to admit her to! How long will our govt deny the #heathcarecrisis?! I am just so upset. That poor woman! Enough already! Seniors do NOT deserve this! #onhealth

Let’s be clear. When you are told you or your loved one must wait in an ER for days b/c there are no beds, what they really mean is there are many beds but NO nurses to provide safe care. Hospital admin is complicit in denying the HC crisis #justsayit #nursingshortage #onhealth

Right now, your healthcare provider is either: 1) sick with COVID; 2) on a well-deserved vacation; or 3) covering for colleagues in grps 1 & 2, on top of his/her usual duties. I spent the w/e in grp 3. Go easy on your healthcare providers (we are all hurting) and please mask up!

We arrived at @Sunnybrook ER at 4am this morning! It has now been 11 hours and we are still waiting!! I can't even blame the nurses and doctors they are overwhelmed by patients. They need help!! This is compleltely unacceptable to keep people waiting this long!
