Getting a bit squeeky bum time. Bees pretty strong with little coming in. They're light!

Replying to @PhilipCaseFW
@PhilipCaseFW @Merry_Meredith @TWBFarms @NFUtweets This is an absolutely horrific way to distribute support. Like throwing bread to the starving. Does @Defra not realise the first 600 applications in the first five minutes will swallow the Tier 1 budget? defrafarming.blog.gov.uk/202…

Calls are starting to come in from borage growers. The big question is POLLINATION FEES. Some farmers pay, some don't pay & some even ask for payment. A difficult on to navigate. I think we're going to give it a miss this year. It's a lot of work, knackers the bees and the price is no higher that the Summer price. It's bloody dry as well down in the south east. The picture shows a irrigated patch and it's still looks dry. With farmers growing SFI on the door step, there really isn't much of a need for the upheaval. Good luck to those that are making the journey!

Some of the brambles look like they've aborted their stems. Some new growth though so 🤞

It's looking.... Autumnal out there. Looking at the verges and the hedge rows there's significant browning going on. Some of the bramble is nearly past. Ok. There will be a rebound to a certain degree... But an above average crop is now looking unlikely.

This rain and dreary weather - while not ideal for inspections and such is actually perfect. Very few swarmers, ticking down the days till they go into Winter mode. Queens plenty of space to lay now there's little nectar coming in. Summer plants growing nicely. Strong bees on the whole. There's potential there if we get some nice weather last week of June, 1st week of July. Some good queens for next year. Mated well during nice weather. Honey down though, way down. I predicted 18t, I think that was generous. More like 15-16 (Spring)

Looks like the Great British Honey glut is over. If one even existed in the first place? As last prices look to be on the rise; good job as it was becoming uneconomical to produce.

If anyone buys one of these honey pump motors they are 0.75kw NOT 7.5kw as listed on the motor. £300 down the drain
