I think it was reported some time last month/early this month that Home Affairs is not verifying them, their system doesn’t have that function/their process of verification doesn’t include it
A study visa requires one to have provisional acceptance from a registered institution in the country.
The question is are SA institutions issuing fraudulent provisional acceptance letters or are illegal immigrants faking these letters and Home affairs does not validate them?

A surprising takeaway from this scene: I-2k- the younger woman taking her ARVs, while the older man Jonasi who infected her rejects treatment for herbal remedies & slowly deteriorates. It speaks to evolving HIV awareness & the importance of science-led care. There's also an irony in Joyce's revenge. She had Jonasi infected because "I will never birth a child who becomes like you". Yet by the end, because Lindani adheres 2 treatment while Jonasi refused to, the story leaves open the possibility that Menzi may be spared the fate that ultimately consumed his father, despite sleeping with Lindani at the funeral. More than anything, it reflects how far South Africa has come in spreading life-saving information about HIV treatment, adherence & prevention. A generation raised with the message that HIV is managed through treatment, not denial.
