Little is known, although much is theorized, about the long-run benefits of boosting children's social-emotional skills.
Across 450 post-test & follow-up impacts from 86 RCTs, we found similar fadeout rates for intervention impacts on social-emotional & cognitive skills.

A pleasure to be involved in this important report out today 📣 on the importance of prioritising the early years and supporting preschool education. Lovely to see our maths & EF intervention “the ONE” featured as an example of innovative practice.

Wonderful to host @Dr_Tre_Crew today who gave a brilliant seminar on experiences of being working class in higher education. Themes of identity, belonging & the role of precarity. The quote “class runs through me like a stick of rock” will stay with me. Thanks, Teresa!
1. I’ve been lucky to have been a @UKRI_News Future Leader Fellow @FLFDevNetwork for the last few years, with training ending this week in an inspiring leadership retreat. As academics I think we often are cynical about visions and management speak, but I’ve felt feeling inspired
2. There were great messages/reminders about the importance of noticing and naming, value based leadership, building trust in teams and thinking spaces, horizon scanning…
3. Ultimately, the importance of spending time in investing in your teams, thinking about the culture you want to nurture, the team vision - and checking in on it as a continual process.

Let me know if you'd like to be added!
Thank you @ProfVicSimms sobering findings, but so great to get the chance to bring together researchers together working at this from multiple angles! Really enjoyed the discussion.

📈🔍 Exciting findings from our @ceml_esrc project! We've discovered how Year 1 children's feelings towards maths are related to their maths skills. We'll be launching a training programme for schools to get involve in, stay tuned for more details!🚀
