The #US oil blockade directly impacts the supply of food and medicine in #Cuba. The entire population is punished, without exception, with the declared intention of provoking a social outburst. Two examples illustrate it: The 15 thousand tons of rice donated by the Party, the Government, and the People of China could not be immediately transported to each province due to disruptions related to cargo transportation. The lack of fuel prevents nearly 50% of the medicines produced in Cuba in recent months from being distributed throughout the country. The energy siege is real. Anyone who claims otherwise is lying.

.@BrunoRguezP The U.S. Secretary of State consistently and deliberately misrepresents the figures and Cuba’s response regarding the amounts of aid announced by his government since November 2025. Since the first announcement, Cuba’s position has remained unchanged: our government neither rejects nor obstructs aid offered without conditions, however cynical and ridiculous it may seem. It took them more than six months to finalize the delivery of the first aid package, valued at $3 million. It took nearly four months to send a portion of the $6 million that had been announced. How long might it take them to deliver the $100 million? What can $100 million possibly mean, when their economic blockade and energy blockade cause annual losses of more than $5 billion? The Secretary of State and his Department have no real interest in delivering this aid in the short term. So many lies and delays only demonstrate the purely propagandistic nature of these announcements. Wouldn’t it be more humanitarian to lift the illegal energy blockade?

The oil blockade damages the daily lives of children, people with chronic deseases, pregnant women, the elderly and the rest of the Cuban population. It is an abuse and a collective punishment that must cease now.

.@BrunoRguezP "Those in the #US government who claim that the poor state of Cuba’s power grid is our government’s fault are lying to hide the crime they are committing against the people of #Cuba. Let’s look at the facts: Presidential memoranda NSPM-5 of 2017 and 2026 establish financial and commercial strangulation and persecution as the core of the suffocation campaign against Cuba. The economic war was reinforced by the re-inclusion of the island on the unilateral list of so-called state sponsors of terrorism in January 2021 and again in January 2025. They have turned us into a “high-risk” country for any transaction, business deal, or foreign investment. In 2023, a European company canceled the sale of spare parts for power generation turbines out of fear of U.S. sanctions, even though Cuba had the financing. In 2025, a company from a friendly country denied technical assistance to commission a critical component of the Cienfuegos thermoelectric plant because it contained more than 10% of U.S.-origin components. Technicians from companies contracted to provide assistance have decided not to travel to Cuba, even after arriving at their departure airport, due to threats and pressure. Executive Order 14380 issued by the U.S. President on January 29, 2026, authorized the imposition of punitive tariffs on imports from countries that, directly or indirectly, supply oil to Cuba. Before the energy blockade, oil tankers transporting fuel to Cuba were threatened with fines, asset freezes, exclusion from the global financial system, and even interception on the high seas and confiscation of their cargo. On top of all this, 40 foreign banks have refused to do business with Cuba, blocking 140 bank transfers, many of them related to payments for the purchase of solar or wind technology. Facts speak louder than words. The Cuban electrical system is not a victim of neglect. It is a victim of a brutal war. Those who deliberately wage this war are fully aware of the harm it inflicts on the population and hide behind a facade of lies and propaganda."
