I just got really frustrated. I really wanted to start dooming. I thought "why is this a winning mu?" Then I started to swap my gameplan and I did a bit better. This is a small victory that I think is really important

this works for fighting games. Pick a habit, then defend it in your head. I imagine I'm talking to other players in the scene. For example I tried to defend my habit of doing button > HFB > HT to catch a mash. I couldn't defend it. It's a 19f gap so with a good reaction it loses

the playing/not playing games or whatever discourse is pretty stupid. Just one big semantic argument. Gameplay is very important to games obviously its the whole reason they aren't other forms of media. But the other aspects are still meant to be consumed

Whether youre a "fan" doesnt really matter imo. Games wont be the same without playing them, but if youre actively engaging with the story, music, lore, or straight up watching people play it then call yourself a fan its fine. You should get around to playing them tho
