To ensure patient safety, in Northern Ireland all private dental services MUST be registered with RQIA - only these services are inspected for compliance with standards by RQIA. To operate within the law all practicing dentists MUST also be registered with the General Dental Council (GDC).
It is UNLAWFUL to provide dental consultations or other dental advice/assistance unless the provider is appropriately registered with RQIA and the GDC.
