EP.9 will be my final game in the walking simulator genre with elements of psychological horror. I will finish this project no matter what, but it will take more time than expected. The release of Callus showed me a lot. I made this game partly as a way to support a larger project, but the reaction to it made me rethink certain things. I do not ask for money based on promises, and I do not go to Kickstarter with empty words. I release actual results of my work. It is also important to remember that I work alone. I do not have a big team or dozens of employees. I pay for all paid resources, assets, and development materials myself, using the money I earn from previous releases. I am not disappointed in everyone. There are still people who stay with me not only after successful games, but also after the more difficult and controversial ones. That is enough for me to keep going.

Friends‼️ EP.9 is the ninth and final game in the current series of projects. It is a psychological horror anthology consisting of six novellas. store.steampowered.com/app/4… Add it to your wishlist and support it with a retweet. The game is planned to be around 3 hours long. The project is approximately 70% complete, so stay tuned for updates. And don’t forget to leave a Steam review for Callus.

Friends, It’s been over a week since the release, and I can see that the reaction has been very mixed. There is support — and thank you for that. But there’s also a lot of negativity, which, honestly, has been hard to deal with. I made this project with heart and without calculation — simply because it mattered to me. That’s why it’s especially strange to read messages like “I’m an Emika fan, but this project is bad,” without any explanation. Criticism is normal. But when it comes without arguments, it doesn’t help — it only drains you. store.steampowered.com/app/4…

What you see in the screenshots is a project I’ve been working on for about a year, starting from the release of Pieces of Me. At this point, I don’t see a reason to continue working on it. Most likely, the feedback would be along the lines of: “expected more,” “nothing new,” “reused assets,” “the story isn’t original,” “too many jump scares,” “too few jump scares,” “Emika is a whole studio putting out low-effort games,” and so on. So I want to clarify this explicitly: I make games on my own. This is not a studio or a team. If so-called “fans” don’t accept short games and the kinds of projects I want to make, then continuing in this format doesn’t make sense to me. In that case, it’s better for the game to remain on the wishlist than to be released and devalued.

Friends, if you’ve played “CALLUS”, I’d really appreciate it if you could leave a review on Steam. 🙏 I see some “fans” writing that it’s my worst work. Do you think they’ve ever reviewed games they actually liked? Spoiler: no. For some reason, they also seem to think Emika Games is a studio that’s obligated to release longer projects year after year (which would mean I shouldn’t sleep at all). I genuinely try to listen to real feedback, improve my projects with each release, and make updates. But somehow, it’s still not what they expect. So honestly, I don’t really understand what my “fans” want from me. As for this game, I said from the very beginning that it’s an interim project created to help fund a larger, longer game. It also contains a lot of content that isn’t required for progression. You don’t need to rush through it like some kind of marathon. Thank you to everyone who truly supports and understands ❤️ store.steampowered.com/app/4…
