An underexplored aspect of The Office is that Jim is a huge loser. He doesn’t have any friends.
the kind of edgy jokes the woke media is too afraid to make these days

Just learned that Jetski is in fact a trademarked brand name & not the name for the vehicle itself

Your aunty who has never watched a club game will tell you that Ghana’s Left Back is dealing with a grade 1 hamstring injury before game 1 and is doubtful

I think at a national level, people cannot in good faith, engage in problem solving simply bc it requires less brain power to take a pessimistic & reductionist stance. β€œTrini like too much car and status”

Essentially the study proves that Trinidadian commuters are rational actors. If public transportation and walking infrastructure are both inadequate, the average commuter will choose to own a vehicle.
They did a study a few years ago and their conclusion was that we doh wanna use busses, cuz we wanna own cars. Ignoring that, largely, you MUST own a car to reach anywhere reliably in T&T. Cuz the Bus certainly isn't reliable.

Ive seen a couple, and I think it benefits us to avoid these broad statements - β€œpeople like cars” & β€œcar status” too much. While it may be true, people are ultimately rational - they *will* gravitate towards whatever the country provides for.
People like cars too much. I saw one argument against rail was that people would have to walk to get to their destination. Like 5 mins walk is a bad thing.

There’s no endemic trait specific to Trinidadians that makes us want cars more - we just live in a country that largely ignores urban planning

Ergo- if areas are designed with walking in mind, people will buy and drive less cars. If areas are designed with cars in mind, people are inclined to drive more and buy more cars
