Finally, while I’m about “90-95%” better, maintaining a consistent state of wellness is an ongoing process, and minor relapses do happen if I push too hard. I practice caution with dosing exercise volume and intensity, and sustained exertion in the heat is still off limits.

I hope this thread has been helpful to those of you that asked. Thank you for the support! (Now I’m going to go back to hiding under a rock because selective use of social media is also a part of my energy budgeting strategy)

Thankfully I’ve returned to work and am feeling more human now, but being back to treating Covid patients fills me with dread and great concern re: the long term fallout this virus is going to have for so many of us 💔

👏🏻 great @NorthwesternMed success story. Shout out to my excellent PT colleague @dustinisatexan for his tireless dedication to rehabbing this COVID survivor and fellow healthcare worker!
Remarkable recovery following double lung transplant in the first healthcare worker (out of state ER physician) suffering from terminal COVID-19. ⁦@SamKimMD⁩ ⁦@NorthwesternMed⁩ ⁦@NMSurgery
