Fantastic news - was great Treaty United kept Limerick soccer going but was an awful name for a team. And any scenario where Treaty and Limerick FC ended up in the same league would have been a shambles

Treaty United FC are pleased to announce that they have entered into an agreement, in principle, under which they will acquire the intellectual property associated with Limerick FC and, subject to the completion of the necessary formalities and approvals, adopt the historic Limerick FC name at the beginning of the 2027 season.

Would be interesting to see research of penalty success rate depending on the type of run-up and whether a player has to wait ages to take it. I suspect we’d find it doesn’t make much difference. People just twist it afterwards - ‘yeah obviously he was going to miss’ etc

It was a bit odd seeing Irish Twitter kicking off that yesterday's game wasn't free to air when in Britain none of the CL games (bar the final) are free - in fact I'd say the Tuesday Prime Video games are the ones most people can watch
