This is absolutely awful news, so upsetting! My son has not had a hospital admission for 2 years since he started kaftrio, his medication load has reduced significantly and he now leads a near normal life just like his brother, it has changed his life!

ALT NICE have today given an update on their evaluation of the cost-effectiveness of the modulator drugs Kaftrio, Orkambi and Symkevi. They have confirmed they are highly effective for people with cystic fibrosis, however, have judged that they are too expensive at the current price for them to recommend full access on the NHS.

CF patients should not have to pay for drugs to stay alive. The Government must make all CF patients eligible for a medical exemption certificate. The exemption list was created in 1968, and CF was not included due to patients rarely living into adulthood petition.parliament.uk/petitβ¦

First CFer to the top of Mount Vinson in Antarctica,7 of the 7 summits now completed (highest on each continent). Tough going at high altitude, each step & breath an effort. Had an infection and constant cough a it turns out CF lungs don't appreciate -40!
