No marginalized family should be blocked from options/resources that allow them to self determine their children's education. Wealthy people will always have choices, programs or not. But blocking programs that allow those who otherwise wouldn't have the choice is oppressive.
Remember when thousands of ESA student’s data (including funding amounts and categories of disability) was sent over to SOS under Sup Hoffman & parents were told by feds it wasn’t a FERPA violation & AG refused to investigate. No one held accountable.
But NOW it’s a big deal?
I’m so happy to see that @GovernorHobbs supports the students and families that are on the ESA program and wants to make sure the program is safe for us in the future. @AZBethLewis and @arizona_sos doxxed the families in 2020 when the prior administration handed them 7000 names, addresses and diagnoses of students. Again thank you @GovernorHobbs for supporting #EducationForAll
Arizona students and families deserve to know that proper measures are in place to protect their personal information. That's why I sent a letter to Superintendent Horne asking for answers regarding the recent ClassWallet information breach, and plans to protect Arizonans' privacy.
So ... Someone thought ESA was income based? ESA funds weren't being used to go to Disney or build a deluxe court in someone's yard. The card doesn't work that way. The poster was bitter that families using ESA are allowed to buy nice things w/their own income. AG? Really?
#SchoolChoice expansion isn't enough. Families need resources and support to navigate implementation and the parental role in education. Should navigators be funded? Of course. Are those of us already doing the work supported by our friends in the movement? Not even close. #truth
Please tell me what I’m missing here. What are we doing next? Putting patients in charge of their own surgeries? Clients in charge of their own trials? When did we stop trusting experts. This is so stupid.
My oldest attended public district schools. My 3 youngest have never stepped foot in a public classroom.
I knew better.
I am proud to say that 75% of my children have no prior public school enrollment.
Fooled me once, but never again.

Cute that you tagged us. 🤗🤗
We LOVE that every Arizona student has access to a portion of their education funding for an educational environment that meets their individual needs.
BREAKING: Arizona Department of Education has received 23,502 applications for their school choice program since August 16th.
This includes over 10,000 applications since the end of last week.
Calling all educators, vendors, and schools!
ESA is now available to all AZ kids. But there has never been a central directory for parents to find what they need! So we're making one! Wanna be listed?

WV is so lucky to have @jbuckland8 as a parent advocate. There is NO sub for local, state-native, homegrown advocacy. The difference in real grassroots organizing & support vs. top-down programmatic imports is always clear when rubber meets the road.
Every state needs a Jamie. <3
We serve #wvfamilies. A large part of that is supporting providers to ensure they can offer sustainable learning options. We recently asked for feedback from parents and providers - so encouraging! Missy's #microschool is a #velarecipient
@VelaEdFund
Parents in WV are making it clear - they want to go to one place to help them navigate their options. We serve #wvfamilies by supporting providers AND offering expertise and consulting you simply can't find anywhere else! #wearethewvfue#wveducation We remove the scavenger hunt!
