bag.admin.ch/en/newnsb/p--A7… @renzocarbonara is your country trying to spark another global pandemic? 😅

Am I doing something wrong or AMD ROCm on Linux really needs to install 27.7 GB of dependencies?

I genuinely don't know how you manage to struggle setting up a Brother printer. Congrats on Claude being able to do what my 70 year old mom does without even asking for my help.
Claude code is still so crazy to me bc I’ve been having trouble setting up my printer, realized I should just ask CC and it fixed and printed a test page for me 😭

x.ai open sources a heavily censored repo hosting the rewrite of *one* feature, and now every idiot and their dog thinks Twitter is done migrating the likely millions of lines in Scala and hundreds of legacy services using Finagle. 🤪
NEW: X has now transitioned to being written in just rust and Python.

Fun fact: Jong-eun went to middle school in Berne for a few years. Not only he likely speaks English fluently, being buddy with Dennis Rodman, but he understands more Swiss-German than any other dictator in the world. So does his sister.

Americans on Twitter making fun of Europeans for being poor, yet concerned about fucking pennies.
While I agree with the Trump administration's move to discontinue the penny, they should have issued some guidance to businesses on how to round penny transactions. Every business is making up its own convoluted rules and it's potentially going to be a mess.

Gemini 3 (Pro) isn't self-conscious. 🤔 > You reference asking "Gemini 3". > As of today, the current model is Gemini 1.5. By late 2025, "Gemini 3" is a plausible prediction [...]

Then realize Debian/Ubuntu slim images don't have CA certificates and add to the thousands (millions?) man-hours collectively wasted in the past decade github.com/debuerreotype/doc…

Alpine Linux images are great until a dependency needs glibc instead of musl. Start with Alpine. Switch to Debian slim when it breaks. The 50MB you save isn't worth the 6 hours debugging why your Python package won't compile. Pragmatism over purity.

In what kind of third world country you need to haggle over pharmacy or hospital bills?
Actual conversation I had with my pharmacy: Them: Ok when it’s ready that med will be $26 Me: oh really? It’s usually like maybe $8 Them: oh, if I add the goodrx code it’s $6. Do you want me to do that? Me: …yes Them: ok, then it’s $6 (In what world do I want to pay $20 more?? Lol)

Wow, first time I see the Twitter anglosphere steal a French meme and not the other way around, the poor Nicolas was even renamed. 😆

Fun fact, there's a fondue emoji: 🫕 Clearly the Unicode consortium knows 🇨🇭 matters more than the 🇬🇧
There’s still no kettle emoji. Absolutely outrageous. An appliance that keeps the whole of Britain going, despite it all, and Apple can’t even recognise it. I’m not angry, I’m just disappointed.

"Crunching the latest data, just for you. Hang tight…" Interesting how @github projects contributor pane is so painfully slow after all these years. Surely a bit of precomputation and caching should be doable for projects above a certain size/contributors/stars threshold. 🤔
