So I’ve read that part of the continued evolution of humans is the rise in IQ. So, do we think the same phenomenon is occurring in other species? Are 2020 squirrels smarter than those born in the 70s? #evolution #science some qualifiers in thread.

Further, can you imagine the implications? What if it’s not just a cognitive intelligence some animals are gaining, but an emotional intelligence?

And I’m not saying all species experience growth.
1. Squirrels were just an example
2. Yes, it does seem like humans are actually getting less intelligent.
3. It would stand to reason that a smarter squirrel would be more fit (in a Darwinian sense) than a dumb one, so why not?

I guess it’s called the Flynn Effect and some argue it’s environmental and not genetic. Also, some have quantified it as about 3IQ pts/ decade.
