ALT Join Us Online! April 8, 2025 12 - 1 pm PST. There are approximately 37-39 bumble bee species in British Columbia, and most are wide-ranging and live in a variety of habitats across the vast provincial landscape. This project aims to collect quantitative data that can be used to assess the conservation status of all bumble bees in the province. Data collection involves establishing long term (> 10 years) bumble bee monitoring routes throughout the province, and concurrently build a community of trained volunteers who, once per year, would survey these routes within the areas they live and work. In 2022, 2023, & 2024 we asked government staff to participate in this community bumble bee monitoring project. Join us to hear about these and other exciting results and how you can join Team Bee for one day of surveys, learn about bees and their threats, and help survey bumble bees during the summer of 2025.
