Nine years ago (according to the Post-it on the cabinet) I typed the labels for these historic @morethanadodo Elateridae, and this week I put them on the specimens! Clearly got distracted 😄 Think they look much better now though, so worth the wait!

ALT Preserved moth specimens, pinned neatly in rows. This particular species is a bee mimic. It’s body is covered in dense golden yellow hairs, with a band of black around the abdomen and organs hairs at the rear. The wings a clear, and scaleless, except for the edges which had a dark brown border.
