It was a pleasure to be interviewed by Mike Warwick of Do Radio about my book and a whole load of other things, including my childhood, Christianity, my slightly weird but lucky life as an opinion writer and all sorts really doradio.uk/where-to-next/?ep…

(Incidentally I've always thought that David Steel should have been called David Owen and David Owen should have been called David Steel)

So patronising to excuse Kenyon's inarticulacy on the grounds that he's a working-class man. You can be a working-class man *and* be highly articulate, as various MPs (and countless others) have shown over the decades #BBCQT

It's astonishing that this needs to be said but it evidently does

Marjane Satrapi died today. Her work incredibly matters, she showed millions of people what the regime hides. In fact, Persepolis was so controversial that Iran’s government sent a letter to the French embassy in Tehran to protest it and pressured organizers of the 2007 Bangkok Film Festival to remove it from the lineup.

'This is what mastery looks like' The new Tempest at @TheRSC is packed with talent that has nothing left to prove. The result is a production of utter assurance and belief in the text

New music by me! It's a pretty big electro kind of thing. Can't shake the influence of C64 loading music but I'm actually quite happy about that

Still think I was basically right about this! There was so much clamour last season for a 'proper' centre-forward but I still reckon Arsenal might have been better without one
Replying to @barneyronay
But they might not have made those chances if they'd had a 'proper' centre-forward. And they've plenty of players who can score goals. It's like how Lukaku was the final piece in Chelsea's jigsaw, until it turned out that he was actually from the wrong jigsaw and it all broke

Pretty amazing to see and hear the great @DonnyMcCaslin at @PrestoMusicCom in Leamington tonight. Aside from anything else, what a privilege to hear him play a tribute to Sonny Rollins on this day of days

Obviously the conversations around Bowie were astonishing - McCaslin was to Blackstar what Ronson was to Ziggy - but McCaslin's own work is fantastic too and deserves to be heard far and wide. Great to meet him and get my copy of his latest album signed. And he's v nice!
