Environmental Sensing @ Southampton (ES@S): a world leading enterprise facility bringing together state of the art geospatial sensors, platforms and people.
Its been a great few days at #MATS24 hosted by @NOCsouthampton alongside @UoS_smmi, connecting with colleagues in industry and academia to promote the work we do and services we offer. ⛴️👋
Last week we got out and about to demonstrate our Otter USV to the @EnvAgency, showcasing its ability to collect high quality data in a busy river channel.

Last week we teamed up with @DorsetWildlife for their restoration works at Lyscombe Farm🌿. We're providing 300 hectares of baseline datasets from from UAV-based imagery and LiDAR to monitor the impact of their work. Stay tuned for updates! #Conservation#Restoration#UAV#LiDAR
On World Habitat Day, we're focused on the collective responsibility we all share for the future of the human habitat.
Across our terrestrial, marine and aerial work we provide leading environmental sensing expertise that contributes to this mission. 🌎🌳🌊
We had a fantastic time at the inaugural @SotonGeospatial Summer School, teaching data acquisition and processing.

It's #WorldMaritimeDay 🌎!
The IMO's work in protecting the marine environment is something that we are also passionate about - some of our work has included helping map seagrass distribution to monitor the damage and recovery. ⛴️
🔍A look at some of our equipment.
Our lidar unit is very useful in urban settings for scanning vegetation and building structures. The adaptability from handheld to attached to a backpack or drone makes it very handy!
We're really happy about our initial tests of our Maritime Robotics Otter with Norbit multibeam. Find out more about how it went: esas.soton.ac.uk/2024/07/25/…
Thank you to @unisouthampton FELS for putting on the Knowledge Exchange, Innovation and Enterprise Networking Event last week👏. We had a great time showcasing what we do!
ALT A stand at the FELS event. On one table there is a PicoCat and on the other is a drone and lidar scanner. The lidar scanner is connected to the screen, showing the people in the room.
