Vet nurse & head of sales at Vita, Tara Evans, says "It is great to see that owners are equipped with a first aid box and really engaged with horse health. However, our survey highlighted that owners are less confident with the best type of first aid treatments to use." (3/4)

The survey found that 7% seek advice from a vet for minor wounds & 44% would wait a few days to call a vet if its not healing. Most first aid kits contain topical treatments & the most common treatment option for minor wounds is a cream/ointment with 71% applying these. (2/4)
A recent survey has found that horse owners feel confident when it comes to managing minor wounds. The results show that there is room to increase owner confidence when considering what to stock in their first aid box and knowing when to seek veterinary advice. (1/4)
