Inner me: Now's not the time to explain that Brunson took the most he could possibly take at the time he extended. The "paycut" meant waiting a season to get paid the uncertainty w/o a deal in place. It was mutually beneficial; nothing wrong with that

ICYMI, a LeBron sign-and-trade to Cleveland isn't as outlandish as I initially thought. The core issue is the Cavs must be below the first apron through the 2026-27 season, which means they need to shed salary. Here, Lakers add more players than they could via cap room
