Some really good stuff for those wanting to understand the modern game compared to what the game used to be. Nash & LeBron go deep here. It’s worth the watch. Position-less league. youtu.be/LW7bNrFmck4?si=2nnh…

Olynyk Barnes Waters Plumlee Biyombo McLaughlin I wouldn’t be surprised if you see the 20th, 35th, maybe 38th ( think at least 1 2nd rounder will be traded) and MLE to replace 3-4 of these spots.

Fox will be here next year. He will work his butt off the summer and hopefully be much better. I’ll be shocked if he’s traded.
Replying to @EricSal_7
I don’t think you can get rid of Fox and i like the way the three compliment each other when healthy. But I need more balance and two of the three on the floor at all times. Need a couple more legit scorers for the 2nd unit and another athletic big to pair with Wemby.

Spurs used transition free flowing offense to build leads all series. Then late in the games, Mitch had the players walk the ball up the floor get into sets with 12 on the clock against the best POA defenders and played not to lose, with the lead. I’ll never forget what a lost opportunity this was by questionable decisions.

This is wild to think about.
If my count is right, if they stopped the games after 46 minutes, the Spurs would have won the series in 5 games.

Dylan & Steph need to be the starters day 1 next year. Can’t let a salary dictate rotation decisions when the goal is a title.
Devin Vassell says Dylan Harper was frustrated with his role and playing time with the Spurs the season. “But when we needed him most he stepped up.” (h/t @big_business_)

Moving forward: Core: Vic Dylan Steph Rock solid compliments: Dev/ Ju Carter Bryant Keldon will likely stick around but I can understand why you need to keep an open mind. The rest I’m open for discussion & debates.

All season long I was worried about Fox & Vic being too jump shot reliant because neither can get to great spots against a set defense with any type of consistency. It showed its head when it mattered most. One is 28 already maybe past his prime. Max deal starts next year. One is 22 with work and room to improve his body to help his core strength get to spots fluidly.

Julian & Devin were warriors this playoff run. All the kudos to them. I’ll go to the foxhole with them any day of the week. This offseason, Spurs have the option to make his 3.5 mil salary guaranteed for next year. Willing to bet Spurs scratch that and give Julian his 4/50-55 extension this summer.

No he wasn’t.
I guess Mitch Johnson wasn't lying about playing through De'Aaron Fox at the end of the game...

Hope Vic, Steph, and Harper feel that loss every single day this offseason. Because the Spurs can’t afford to sit still. There’s real room to improve this roster without mortgaging draft capital for one overpriced name as well. Every team in the West is coming. OKC isn’t slowing down. Denver will be back. Minnesota will be better. Utah is trending toward the playoffs. Portland is building. I can keep going. And wasting cap space on marginal returns isn’t the answer either. This offseason has to mean something.

In all honesty, this is probably the best thing that could’ve happened to such a young group. Getting to the mountain top early can backfire for many reasons. This will make them as hungry as ever this off-season and moving forward, which can elongate the contending runway to help them win possibly multiple championships. There’s still a lot of room for growth offensively for Vic, Dylan, and Steph. A lot of work to do. Hell of a season.

It’s wild that just 3 years ago Fox & Brunson were on the same tier.

Knicks deserved it. They stole 3 games with better execution in the last 2 minutes each game. Congrats to the Knicks.

Hell of a season. Lost 4 games in the last 2 minutes. Choked 4 times.
