Having read #ArtofPeople to help get me everything I want I'm going to a meeting tomorrow to try & persuade UK officials to support the call for a mandatory code of practice for #litter generating business sectors to clean up their mess. That's all I want.

European #litterpickers tour has moved to #Holland & the big bins of #Haarlem. Despite plenty of these & recycling sadly come across lots of #litter. Also lovely scenery, street culture & history & navigated thousands of bikes & their #Dutch riders. #cigerette #butts #rule here.
European tour moved on to #Stuttgart & loving life using #DRS machines. We don't have these in the UK. Not too many cans or bottles #littered but plenty of soft #plastics strewn around the city. #litterpollution

I've moved on to #Luxembourg & it's pretty darn clean. Yes, odd plastic fragments, a wrapper, or can in a hedge, the odd protest (litter dumped next to a bin not in it). It's micro-picking in the main with #Cigarette butts probably dominate.

This couple have been caught on camera fly-tipping near Nuneaton. The evidence will be passed to the Leader of Warks County Council @_GeorgeFinch who, we have full confidence, will ensure these people are prosecuted. @bbcmtd

Between its historical buildings & waterways, the odd beer I found time in #Ghent to compare it's #litter with #UK. It sure feels the same 🫤 #Belgium also has problems of habitual littering, on scale, small overflowing bins, overwhelmed clean-up crews & inconsistent strategy.

Last pick in June, a biggy picking up shredded litter at Gossington Bridge. Despite @StroudDC assurances it would picked up with priority. 2,200 items but much #microplastic left behind as needed tweezers to pick it. Deep dives in 1m x 1m squares for @uniofglos looking at impact.
