I’ve been building, as a side project, something unlike anything you’ve ever seen. It’s a 𝘃𝗶𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗽𝗲𝘁, Tamagotchi-style, but with one big difference: 𝗶𝘁 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗵𝗼𝘁𝗼𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲. If it’s hungry, what do you do? You take a picture of some food.
But here’s what most people don’t notice at first: the pet gradually progresses and starts to mirror its owner’s lifestyle. If the owner is always indoors eating junk food, the pet will only ever receive those kinds of stimuli. And its traits will reflect that tendency. In the end, it’s a playful, indirect invitation to look more closely at yourself, as well as a powerful prompt to explore life from different angles.
𝗠𝗶𝗿𝗼𝗸𝗮𝗺𝗶 is a slow-paced game with rewarding, but occasional, interactions. And although it’s a personal experience, it’s often shared in private groups of friends. It rewards those who are willing to seek out real-world experiences and explore new perspectives on everyday situations.
It’s 𝗮𝘃𝗮𝗶𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 on the App Store (iOS - link in the comments), and in private testing on the Play Store (Android — DM me if you want early access).
I’m still exploring ideas for 𝘁𝗼𝗸𝗲𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 and how they might apply, but right now I’m focusing on the core app mechanics. If you have ideas after trying the app, let me know.
