San Diego Gas & Electric has asked state regulators to approve an 8.6% increase in typical monthly residential bills starting in 2028. The proposal is part of a general rate case and includes a $3.8 billion revenue request for that year. If approved, the average electric bill would rise by about $14.03 per month and the average natural gas bill by about $8.45. The request now goes into an 18-month review process before state regulators make a final decision.
