Έκκληση για Ένταξη: Οι Λεβαντίνοι Έλληνες Απευθύνονται στην Ελλάδα Εν μέσω Ελληνοτουρκικών Διπλωματικών Συνομιλιών Αξιότιμε Υπουργέ Γιώργο Γεραπετρίτη, Εμείς, οι Λεβαντίνοι Έλληνες (Ορθόδοξοι και Μελχίτες, υπό τη δικαιοδοσία των Πατριαρχείων Αντιοχείας, Ιεροσολύμων και Αλεξανδρείας), σας απευθύνουμε αυτή την επιστολή σε μια κρίσιμη στιγμή για τη διπλωματική εμπλοκή της Ελλάδας με την Τουρκία. Ως εκπρόσωπος της διεθνούς παρουσίας και των αξιών της Ελλάδας, φέρετε την ευθύνη να διασφαλίσετε όχι μόνο τα εθνικά συμφέροντα, αλλά και τους ιστορικούς και πνευματικούς δεσμούς που συνδέουν τον Ελληνισμό με τις κοινότητές του στο εξωτερικό. Γνωρίζουμε βαθιά την πολυπλοκότητα και τις ευαισθησίες που περιβάλλουν τις ελληνοτουρκικές σχέσεις. Ωστόσο, πρέπει να ρωτήσουμε: πού βρισκόμαστε εμείς, οι Λεβαντίνοι Έλληνες, σε αυτές τις συνομιλίες; Λαμβάνονται υπόψη οι φωνές και η ευημερία των κοινοτήτων μας—του λαού σας—σε αυτή τη διπλωματική διαδικασία; Δεν είμαστε μακρινοί ή αφηρημένοι για την Ελλάδα. Είμαστε η ζωντανή της κληρονομιά στη Λεβαντίνη, η διαρκής παρακαταθήκη του Ελληνισμού σε Λίβανο, Συρία, Ιορδανία, Παλαιστίνη και πέρα από αυτά. Η γλώσσα μας, αν και έχει αποδυναμωθεί από αιώνες οθωμανικής καταπίεσης, συνεχίζει να ζει στις προσευχές, στις λειτουργίες και στις καρδιές μας. Οι γαίες μας είναι ιερές, γεμάτες από τα ίχνη μιας κοινής ιστορίας, από τα έργα του Αγίου Ιωάννη του Δαμασκηνού έως τα λείψανα του Ανανία. Ωστόσο, σήμερα βρισκόμαστε αντιμέτωποι με την απειλή της εξαφάνισης, ανάμεσα στις πιέσεις του ανερχόμενου εξτρεμισμού και την αδιαφορία των διεθνών δρώντων. Εδώ και αιώνες παραμένουμε πιστοί στην Ελλάδα, στεκόμενοι δίπλα της στις χαρές και στις δοκιμασίες της, διατηρώντας τον πολιτισμό της και ενσαρκώνοντας την πνευματική της κληρονομιά σε μία από τις πιο ταραγμένες περιοχές του κόσμου. Ωστόσο, σήμερα ρωτάμε: θα μας εγκαταλείψει η Ελλάδα στο βωμό των συμφωνιών με την Τουρκία; Θα θυσιαστούν οι Λεβαντίνοι Έλληνες για χάρη της διπλωματίας; Κατανοούμε τις προκλήσεις που αντιμετωπίζει η Ελλάδα—οικονομικές πιέσεις, περιφερειακή αστάθεια και παγκόσμιες γεωπολιτικές πραγματικότητες.
