A comprehensive cohort study with @yuxia_wei as first author found that having a first-degree relative with #diabetes significantly increases the risk of developing #T1D as an adult & the risk is higher if the relative developed diabetes early.

The risk was higher in people with high-risk #genes for #autoimmune diseases.
