Ann Coulter,
You are ignorant as fuck. Not sure if itβs from skipping ancient Greece in school or just being a moron. Either way, hereβs what we know:
Homer and Euripides werenβt βwriting myths about African godsβ.
They werenβt writing myths at all.
Those myths already existed for centuries. Homer turned them into epic poetry. Euripides turned them into tragedies.
You clearly know fuck all about ancient Greeks. They drenched in praise black and brown people.
Homer calls black Africans the βblameless Ethiopiansβ aka the most pious humans alive. βBlamelessβ was a praise awarded only to heroes. So holy that Zeus and the entire Olympian crew ditch the Trojan War for 12 straight to feast with them.
Herodotus says theyβre the tallest, most handsome, longest-lived people on earth.
The Greeks worshipped Egypt as the cradle of civilization. Herodotus called Egyptians the oldest people alive and gushed over their wisdom, geometry, medicine, and temples. Plato sent his smartest characters there to study.
Greek myths are packed with black kings and queens: Zeus fathers Epaphus, king of Egypt. Memnon, Ethiopian king, rolls up to Troy as a legendary warrior Achilles has to fight. Andromeda, an Ethiopian princess, marries into Greek royalty.
They straight-up admired brown Levantines too. Phoenicians gave them the alphabet. Cadmus (a Phoenician prince) founded Thebes in Greece.
Meanwhile? Aristotle roasts your Northern European ancestors as βfull of spirit but wanting in intelligence and skillβ aka brave but stupid.
Brown peoples? He calls them βintelligent and inventiveβ but lacking bravery.
The classics were never some pure white European fanfic.
The ancient Greeks respected and borrowed from Africans and Easterners while calling your barbarian bloodline uncivilized savages.
Itβs embarrassing yourself.
Homer, Euripides, Virgil and Ovid were not writing myths about African gods, any more than they were writing myths about Martians. That's kinda central to the stories.
