✅ Canadian title and automatic qualifier for Commonwealth Games secured! 26 degrees, and definitely hotter on the track so I’m pleased to get under 40min! Pacing was spot on until I started to drift a little bit just after 8km, really had to dig deep the last km and get back on pace and then a 1:29 last lap.

Sunday’s 5km was 95.7% of my PB Today was 95.5% of my PB. So that puts me around 1:26 for the half marathon at Nationals in a couple weeks if I can maintain the trend. And I guess when people ask how injury recovery is going I can say I’m about 95% of the way there?

Always a treat when mentioned in the same paragraph as the likes of Sawe and @MountainRoche! Thanks for the inclusion @tckahler, best of luck with the Marathon build!

Did a 5km at the Jesse Bent track meet yesterday and looking through my old training after discovered that I inadvertently had a really good race against my *2011* self from the same meet.

I honestly don’t know how the horses are going to do some of those Ninja Warrior obstacles.

Spent 30 hours the last 5 days volunteering at Elementary School track meets. My voice is wrecked, but so much fun. Playing a role in helping kids fall in love with the sport I fell in love with, not much that compares to that!

The amount of people who are seemingly fans of our sport who are either willfully or ignorantly misrepresenting the qualification standards for world champs is wild to me. It has to be engagement bait, right? Standards are designed to achieve 40% of the target number. Other 60% through World Rankings. This is very simple stuff. Last time they were aiming for 50% so yah, they got harder 🤯

P.s. it has worked. I am engaging. Egg on my face and all.

I had the long form census and I was a little disappointed. They had ‘walk to work’ as an option but not ‘walk for work’

This is only the 3rd time in history that 2 Canadian men have broken 10 in a wind legal race. First time it’s happened with this current generation of @De6rasse, @_Jeromeblake and @KingsleySC. July 15th, 1995. Montreal ( 1.3): 9.91 Donovan Bailey 9.97 Bruny Surin Aug 1st, 1998. Montreal ( 1.5): 9.89 Bruny Surin 9.93 Donovan Bailey Aaron Brown ran 10.12. In 1998 O’Brian Gibbons ran 10.10 behind Bruny and Donovan for fastest ever 3rd Canadian in a race.
9.93s!!🔥 Jerome Blake 🇨🇦 opened up his season with a new Personal Best (PB) of 9.93s (1.0) to win the men's 100m at the Botswana Golden Grand Prix! He beat Ferdinand Omanyala 🇰🇪 who ran 9.95s and Andre de Grasse 🇨🇦 also in 9.95s. Emmanuel Eseme 🇨🇲 finished 4th in 10.02s.

I love Twitter after a big performance in athletics when people will post how there’s zero clean athletes and everyone’s on drugs yada yada yada and I’m over here dunking my 5th chocolate fudge cookie into milk.

Today, while I was out training someone stopped beside me in their car and asked if I was going for the next Olympics, and then handed me $20 to help with my training. It was very very sweet and a little bit funny! And it will go towards a new pair of shoes as my current trainers have about 50k left in them I reckon.

Nice touch by Vancouver Sun Run to name stretch of Georgia Street after a man that gave much to the running community across Canada... #SunRun2026

Walked the Vancouver Sun Run this morning. Happy with a 40:40. It’s a bit of progress when progress has been hard to come by. Given the recent discourse I thought this photo was lovely. The fact that it’s a Nike hat is 👨‍🍳💋 📸 Maya Sharpe IG: mayasharpephotos

Any brands out there that REALLY want to stick it to Nike in this moment of walk shaming should sponsor me! That would show them.

The Venn diagram of people mad at Nike for taking down their ‘walkers tolerated’ ad in Boston and people that get upset when I walk past them in races seems to be a circle.
