I wrote a book about @SacRepublicFC and you can buy it now. Huge thanks to everyone who helped make this happen. No idea if it’s good but @DanielJamePhoto says I should be proud of my accomplishment so that’s good enough for me: amazon.com/Not-When-But-Expe…

The best part of last night’s game was how hard Marco Rubio got booed every time they showed him at the place I was watching

As a former youth club coach who has now been at every level- I encourage Landon to not put us all in the same box. I’ve seen some youth coaches be better than pro coaches. I understand his point but some youth coaches are just not given the chance to get to a pro level

“If I have a conversation with a youth soccer coach from pick wherever in America, half the time that coach thinks they know more about soccer than I do.” USMNT legend Landon Donovan calls out youth soccer coaches in the U.S. 😳 “In England, a small country, there is an overall common goal and a common desire for the national team to succeed because it helps everyone,” he said. “I know the media is rough and stuff like that, but everyone in general wants it to succeed. Right? “In America, we have such a massive country, and we have a lot of people who know nothing about soccer, who get an opinion on soccer and have influence in soccer. “And so it's really hard to find commonality, because if I have a conversation with a youth soccer coach from pick wherever in America, half the time that coach thinks they know more about soccer than I do. “And I mean, they really believe it. “It's just because they have like power in their little fiefdoms that they run and whatever. The parents are beholden to them, the kids are beholden to them. “So they just think they're powerful in these because they have a seat on the U.S. Soccer board, or they're one of the member associations who gets to vote on things. “And so they feel like they're as influential as the Commissioner of MLS. It’s crazy.” Donovan has seen it all. Having played for MLS sides like LA Galaxy and San Jose Earthquakes, he also spent time coaching San Diego Loyal in USL and San Diego Wave in NWSL. He played in Europe as well, with Everton, Bayern Munich, and Bayer Leverkusen. [via @goal’s The Rondo]

Hey I coach youth soccer and while some of this may be true…the parents quote is wild. The parents pay my salary and therefore have waaaaaay too much say, it’s definitely not the other way around in our pay to play model

This is bullshit. Do better, @InterMiamiCF
After six seasons of attending every Inter Miami home match, my streak comes to an end this weekend. My credential for Saturday’s match was not approved. I’ll still be following closely. #InterMiamiCF #Messi

This league and this sport in this country have been dying for coverage since 1996 and there have been many willing to provide that coverage, often for pennies in return. You don’t shove aside the people who covered you when you were nothing when you finally make it big time

The Dow just hit 46,000, why are we even talking about this?
A person familiar with the situation tells me that Pam Bondi will be out as AG imminently, confirming scoops from @CNN and @nytimes. When Trump met EPA boss Lee Zeldin on Tuesday to discuss last year’s California wildfires, Trump also discussed the potential of tapping him for the AG role, a person close to the WH tells me. @CNN and @nytimes also both named Zeldin as the most likely successor. The league wants a marketing website. Wouldn’t having top tier coverage of the league be a good way to get eyes? Why doesn’t the extremely successful and self sufficient Extratime podcast not exist anymore? And remains without a replacement? The website is a place i got into MLS from. It’s what helped drive me to want to do this job. I know there are a ton of fans who feel the same. This is the place that most — if not all — of your favorite MLS writers and podcasters came through or worked for. It’s a shame. As it was for around a dozen other people laid off or not renewed or phased out who were integral to fans and helped grow the league.
Possibly the dumbest decision by a place that has no shortage of self-inflicted wounds in recent years. If you’re an MLS fan, subscribe to Doyle’s newsletter. I promise you’ll get coverage you want. Why the league doesn’t want to be in that business anymore is incomprehensible.

Another dumb decision by MLS folks. Lost so many good people in their coverage team over the past few years
Fifteen years ago, I got my dream job writing for MLSsoccer. Last week, that came to an end. I'm off on my own, and it's time to build something new – with a little help from all of you. tacticsfreezone.ghost.io/an-…

NOT a violation of the law: - Telling ICE agents to go fuck themselves - Flipping off ICE agents - Yelling at ICE agents - Filming ICE agents - Refusal to cooperate with ICE agents' demands - Disobeying commands without fighting back This is all according to...@DHSgov
Immigration officers received a "legal refresher" reminding them that personal insults and rude gestures are legal, per documents leaked to me: kenklippenstein.com/p/immigr…
