Outside of the 1st inning, I think there were two key points that Texas lost this game.
Firstly, Ashton Larson's double play, seeing two pitches, in the 5th after Texas had scored a run completely killed the momentum, and the lineup couldn't even flip over.
Secondly, Dylan Volantis gives you another scoreless inning, and suddenly you've just won a frame for the first time all game.
Now down just 3 after two hits on Volchko the inning before, Texas gets Pendergrass into the top of the order to leave off the sixth, with the first bit of momentum all game.
Pendergrass doesn't reach base, and Robbins and Tinney are sat down after just three more pitches.
Volchko regained all of his confidence and command, and the game would be over by the end of the next inning.
If you're going to work this patient approach in your first two times at the plate, you can't just ground balls into the dirt as soon as you start being aggressive, especially from two superstars in Robbins and Tinney.
Texas needed Larson through Becerra to show up in those next seven ABs, and that group did the exact opposite.
