On Farm Research scouting yesterday got the season off to a great start! Seed firmer trial showed some very interesting results in greatly reducing late emerging plants! So much to learn in your fields right as they emerge. Worth braving the wind and cold.... many of the observations will be hidden in 7-10 when the corn and soybeans are bigger with the heat coming..

Is it time to replace? Measuring wear parts is crucial to ensure good seed placement. Thompson wheels: replace at 11.5" or when points measure 1". Valion seed tube guards: replace when they measure at 5/8". Opener blades: replace at 5 7/8" for drills, and 5 1/8" for planters.
