Thanks to some generous Book Fairies π§ every student in our class was able to pick out a book from the Book Fair to take home and discover the πͺ magic β¨ of reading π π
Camp Spark was in-tents this week! Students built reading tents, read campfire stories, practiced foundational math skills, and ended with a campfire sβmore π π« π
We are counting down to Winter break with a 12 days of kindness challenge! Yesterday, students helped their families with chores and families sent in photos to share. Today, we picked up around 9 lbs of trash during recess! ππ₯°π#kindnessallaround
Over the weekend my pie-in-the-sky dream reading corner wishlist from @DonorsChoose was so generously fulfilled by one amazing donor. We celebrated by unboxing dozens of new books today in addition to a new reading bench and pillows! πππ

Multiplication was poppinβ today in 3rd grade! Students represented equations in popcorn groups, pop tube number lines, pop it arrays, lollipop t charts, and with pop nβ roll practice dice #fluencyisfun
Soooo excited to be appointed to the @HoustonISDGov Legislative Advisory Committee! Government policy at all levels impacts students, teachers, and staff on a daily basis. I canβt wait to dig in!
We had a great discussion about dyslexia in honor of #DyslexiaAwarenessMonth My students with dyslexia chose to share their stories and after a @brainpop video our class made connections about how everyoneβs brains have challenges and strengths π§ π #BeautifulMindsHISD

Finally able to join @HISDMultiPrgms SIA training. Loved that we discussed brain breaks- language learning is exhausting and my students look forward to my brain break screens every day!!
Talking about elections in the classroom should not be taboo! We are educating future voters who need to decide for themselves the qualities that make a good president and think beyond one politician. These answers make me one proud teacher! #hisd#votereducation
