As legislators, we need to do all we can to ensure every Texas student has the resources needed to thrive. That includes advancing the Governor’s emergency item to expand broadband access for students, teachers, and parents in rural areas like #SD31. #txlege

Did you know that 5,000 POW’s stayed in this small camp in Hereford, Texas?
One of my own photos. This is the small chapel that was built by Italian POWs near Hereford, Texas during World War II. 5,000 prisoners stayed at the camp, the second-largest built in the United States during the war. Now the chapel stands in the middle of a cornfield, abiding.

A pleasant weather week ahead in The Texas Panhandle
This week will be pretty benign for active weather. It's a dry forecast with above average temps expected through the week. It will be quite nice though to cast your last second ballot if you haven't already done that for tomorrow's election. @ABC7Amarillo @StormSearch7
It looks to be another nice weekend in Amarillo to get outside.
High temperatures are forecast to reach into the 70s by late this afternoon across the Oklahoma and Texas Panhandles. A weak cold front will move across the region this afternoon into early this evening, with winds becoming north behind the boundary. #phwx

Drive Careful out there today!
Welcome to winter wonderland. Officially 5.1" of snow fell over Amarillo. 4.5" last night and 0.6" this morning. Both of these numbers are new daily record snowfalls. Traveling will be difficult this morning where it snowed. @ABC7Amarillo @StormSearch7 #txwx #okwx #nmwx #phwx

Conditions will stay in the high 30s and low 40s today due to the snow left behind. Road conditions are very slick this morning for some but conditions will steadily improve through the day but will never be completely ideal. @ABC7Amarillo @StormSearch7 #txwx #okwx #nmwx #phwx

Road temperatures are in the teens and 20s. Don't expect the ice or snow to go anywhere today unless you or TXDOT move it yourself. @ABC7Amarillo @StormSearch7 #txwx #okwx #nmwx #phwx #spwx
