In 1888, power and religious struggles forced Kabaka Mwanga II to exile his Nephew Prince Nuhu Mbogo Kyabasinga who was an important figure in the history of Islam in Uganda. Mbogo was exiled at Bukasa Island in Ssese lslands where he lived for nearly ten years until 1897.

This is the home where St. Bruno Sserunkuuma was born. It's located at Ssaza-Masaka a short distance from the Buddu county headquarters. He was born in 1856 to Mr. Kizza Kibuuka Majalya Namujulirwa who was the Buddu county chief. He died a Martyr on June 3, 1886. #VisitMasaka๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ฌ

The Mausoleum seen in between this graveyard is the "Chapel of Committo" at Bukalasa Minor Seminary Cemetery, where Bishops of Masaka eternally go to rest. Built in 1914, the chapel currently contains remains of 4 Bishops with more 12 dug graves. Graves are identified by plaques
