Monaco 2026 is McLaren's 1000th Grand Prix.
It all started in Monaco 1966 with Bruce McLaren driving his own car, the M2B.

Stefano Modena's birthday was yesterday.
He was a brilliant f1 driver, but bad choices and bad luck did not bring a great career.

Stefano was running 3rd in the race when his Tyrrell-Honda broke down.
I was there on the spot and took this photo.
44 years ago, the Little Prince of Formula 1 left this Earth and went to the sky.
Gilles villeneuve will forever remain a legend.

Today ,the sorely missed, one and only Dan Gurney, would have been 95 years old.

April 7th, always a sad day.
Because on that day in 1968, we lost Jim Clark in an accident in Hockenheim.
Loved by all, and gifted like no other.
Still holds the record for most Grand Slams!

Today marks the 100th anniversary of Sir Jack Brabham's birth! Jack was a true racer, a tiger, vastly underrated. I am lucky to have known him when he used to come and visit at our family house.

4 years ago today, we lost one of the last warriors of motor racing, Vic Elford.
A man beyond brave, and a friend.
Photo by Bernard Cahier: Vic at the wheel of the fearsome 917 Porsche, Le mans 1969.
Vic Elford died #OnThisDay 4 years ago, aged 86, one of racing’s all-time unsung heroes, a man who mastered the mighty Porsche 917 like almost no-one else & said of his first Le Mans outing in it, “I could go through the Mulsanne kink at 250mph [402km/h].” Pic by Bernard Cahier.
Mauro Forghieri, the great Ferrari engineer, was born on this day 90 years ago. A brilliant and lovely man, he passed away three years ago.
I took this photo at the Nürburgring in 1968.
One of the unsung heroes, Hans Herrmann left us today at the grand age of 97. He will remain as the first driver to win Le Mans for Porsche in 1970, driving the daunting 917K with teammate Richard Attwood. Brave men!
