LH: "I just wasn't good enough...I've got lots to sort out on my side...The setup they have, the brake, steering wheel, it's a lot different. Just struggling with confidence...can't brake late..." This was him many races into 2013 talking about the Mercedes W04... Patience ๐Ÿ™

Every time I see timing sheets like this I like to remind people that they try to call this an unbeatable Mercedes rocketship
He's been splitting rocketships for a while now.

I think the only way to win today is if Lewis can get ahead and somehow keep them behind. Let them burn up their tires trying to overtake Qualifying always helps with the energy deficit, the gap is smaller there, plus our degradation has been awful Need a miracle ๐Ÿ™

Sometimes I just am in disbelief at the standards Lewis is held to People always refer to 24 as a terrible year. A season he was 39 years old, against one of the best on the grid, being phased out of the team, yet he won 2 races in the 4th quickest car. Who else is doing that?

Vettel was 9 years younger than Lewis is right now when he was getting destroyed by (a worse version of) Leclerc every week Feels like it goes completely under the radar

I still believe Leclerc has a small advantage over Lewis in pace right now, but recent races have proven why some still back Lewis in a title fight despite that - pressure & mistakes. A motivated Lewis Hamilton has driven many drivers insane, & Leclerc is not immune

I do respect people that try to put out F1 teammate gap data. I do. But if I see one more graphic tell me Leclerc was quicker cause they ignored Q3 AND Q1 I'm going to explode This is not how it works. Find a way to factor in reality or don't share your analysis at all, imo

I should say, I do data science as my day job. I get how impossible it is. No hate to those that try. However, this is precisely why I do not do my own analysis & post it. I'm not interested in misleading people who don't know better with a fancy graphic

Watching Lewis on the brakes is just brilliant... No wonder when he has a car that is quick on the straights he makes them look disgustingly dominant
GHOST CAR! ๐Ÿ‘ป It was mighty tight between Russell and Hamilton โš”๏ธ Lewis was so close to taking his first pole for Ferrari ๐Ÿค #F1 #BarcelonaGP

I'm sick of drivers getting praise for being quick when they crash. Happens so often They could ALL go faster... The ENTIRE point is to go as fast as you can WITHIN THE LIMITS. Going faster and crashing is NOT "being faster". It's being reckless.

Let's do a thought experiment: give every driver the rewind button from the F1 games. If they crash, they can just go back in time to before that corner. We all agree that every driver would go like, maybe even multiple tenths quicker right? So, if they overdo it and crash, the pace is not real. They can all do that. The point is to go as fast as you can whilst NEVER crashing. Not even sometimes. NEVER.

Very good point that's being glossed over - look how close Ferrari are getting to Merc despite the huge engine deficit. Technical teams deserve a lot of credit to be honest, our chassis must be elite

I really don't enjoy how commentators spend the whole time downplaying Lewis's pace. He literally got P1 in Q1 and they kept saying he was "off the pace" throughout quali. It's just boring. Never any credit, then when he does well it's always "the Ferrari".

He also had HALF the practice time and was right with them from the first lap, what more are they expecting?

They say the first thing you lose when you get old is your quali pace... Yet here, a 41 year old Lewis is out splitting the dominant Merc's & beating the best qualifier this season How fast was this guy in his peak ๐Ÿ’€๐Ÿ’€

George suddenly remembering how to be 3 tenths quicker than Antonelli is unironically perfect for our (impossible) title chase ๐Ÿ˜‚ Let me be deluded alright

He's on it man, there's maybe a couple hundredths but that was a top tier lap don't let the disappointment from the hope of a pole lap mislead you, brilliant lap

I will be honest, if there was an F1 driver stock market I'd be buying this Leclerc dip right now, he's still ridiculously quick most weeks
