The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Land Reform is currently on a site visit to farmers in the Oshikoto Region, to hand over farming equipment aimed at strengthening local rice production. Debmarine is also supporting the initiative through rice production equipment. Among the beneficiaries is Samuel Amunyala, who has been cultivating rice since 2018 as part of efforts to diversify farming activities in the area. Chief Agricultural Technician from Onankali Development Centre, Lucia Shiimi, highlighted the importance of agriculture as a cornerstone of both household survival and income generation. She emphasised that while mahangu remains the dominant crop in the region, introducing rice farming provides an important alternative. Shiimi added that the donated equipment is expected to enhance productivity and ease farming operations. She expressed confidence that the tools will benefit farmers in Erombe village and surrounding areas. @MAWLR_Nam @DebmarineN Report: Peneyambeko Jonas Video: Loise Shiimi
