I find that while foundations say they want to hear from the community, in practice it’s not really happening. I’m a funder with lived experience in foster care, poverty, and living with a disability. And even my voice is not heard on those issues. #2018GEO x.com/jbearwoman/status/9917…

What structures need to be in place to get foundations to hear directly from people experiencing housing inequities first hand? Go to them? Hire from community nonprofits? Keep in mind, it hurts when great staff get “poached” by foundations. #2018GEO
