Fiscally conservative candidate Amy DeClue provides a crystal clear explanation of phasing out the state income tax with the major reasons conservative Republicans and all taxpayers should vote Yes on Amendment 5.
She directly addresses questions and misinformation heard on the campaign trail in District 118. And provides answers like her long opposition to taxes on productivity (and property) because they are mandatory, less fair and deeply violate an individual's privacy. The government takes its cut before you even see your wages.
Amy further describes how the Hancock amendment actually makes A5 revenue neutral- meaning the government can not collect more tax than it currently does throughout the proposed 5 year phase out of the state income tax. And once the income tax is phased out, it is gone forever!

I think you missed the plot.
Then again, that’s becoming a pattern.
I graduated from West Point.
I went through Army flight school.
I learned to fly the AH-64 Apache.
I deployed to combat and flew 55 combat missions over Baghdad.
Nobody handed me a cockpit because of my skin color.
Nobody lowered the standards for me.
Nobody looked at me and said, “Let’s check a diversity box.”
That’s what people like you don’t seem to understand.
Suggesting that Black pilots, Black engineers, Black doctors, or Black leaders need special preferences to succeed is not empowering, it’s insulting.
I didn’t want a different standard.
I wanted the same standard.
And when you’re flying into combat, the American people don’t care what race the pilot is.
They care whether the pilot is qualified.
Merit isn’t racist.
Excellence isn’t discriminatory.
And reducing every achievement to skin color says far more about your worldview than it does about mine.

در سالروز درگذشت خواهر عزیزم، لیلا، یاد و خاطرهاش را گرامی میدارم.
لیلا دختری از ایران بود؛ وفادار به میهن، عاشق پدر و خانواده، و دلبسته هممیهنانش. هرچند دور از سرزمین مادری زندگی کرد، اما عشق به ایران هرگز از قلب او رخت برنبست و امید به آزادی و سربلندی میهن را تا واپسین روزهای زندگیاش از دست نداد.
