He’s coming home! 🏡 🇦🇺 The man who went viral for THAT trivela assist last season has been retained and will play for the Stripes once again! Scarbs is heading into his fifth consecutive season with the club, and has been pivotal in our steady rise through the leagues since joining in 2022 - picking up a handful of trophies along the way 🏆 Whilst the viral assist had everybody talking, Tom is no stranger to getting himself in the headlines - scoring the memorable winner in that frantic affair against Isle of Man in the 2024/25 campaign. Tom leaves everything out on the pitch. He fights for every ball and played a large part of last season through injury after a long spell out. He is resilient and is an asset to us on and off the pitch. The winger also became somewhat of a cult hero amongst a new group of young supporters last season, whom all came to back the lads in full voice during the second half of the campaign. Jack Ball has been retained for the 2026/27 season! 🔴⚪️ Bally is one of our most decorated and experienced players, having enjoyed a lengthy career with the club. As the club continues to grow each year, its players like Jack who we can look to and thank for their hard work and commitment over the years - especially in our title-winning season. Whether it’s some composed defending or an expertly taken free kick, Jack is a huge player for us and always keeps his head up, despite some unfortunate injuries last season. Chris Hill has been retained for the 2026/27 season! 🔴⚪️ Hilly has been with the Stripes for a number of years now, and is a name and face that everyone around the club knows and loves. Chris played a pivotal role in our first-ever promotion into the Premier Division, and also won the Champions Cup in the 2023/24 season. The versatile midfielder featured in every, yes every, position on the pitch last season - scoring screamers, denying attacks and even making a few good saves! Chris has the ability to change a game in an instant whilst being someone to rely on when things need calming down. He is experienced and capable, making him someone people look up to. Ethan Jones has been retained for the 2026/27 season! 🔴⚪️ Ethan joined the club last summer, bringing with him a wealth of experience from his time with Tranmere Rovers, Bala, and City of Liverpool. Jones quickly established himself as a tenacious midfielder with a significant amount of technical ability - opening the scoring in our FA Cup fixture against Glossop NE through a well-taken strike from outside the area. The midfielder was a key part of the squad last season, featuring and thriving in multiple positions all over the pitch. Jamie Whittaker has been retained for the 2026/27 season! 🔴⚪️ The full-back is entering his third season with the Stripes, after making the step up into open-age football and shining for our reserve side - gaining promotion to the Cheshire Prem as well as securing the JA Walton Cup and Northern Cup all in his first season. Whittaker has since stepped up into the first team and enjoyed a very strong spell last season in his first time at the level. Jamie is a player that opposition don’t want to see stood over a set piece, and also plays with a defensive aggression that makes it hard to get around him. For a younger player, he is also very vocal, and is a great character to have around the club. FC St Helens can confirm the departure of defender Mike Ibeto. Ibeto returned for his second stint with the Stripes last summer and was a regular in our backline through the 2025/26 campaign, scoring some important goals along the way. Ethan Van-Aston has been retained for the 2026/27 season! 🔴⚪️ Vanny joined the club in 2023 and impressed highly on his debut against Bacup Borough - going on to notably score the winner in that season’s Champions Cup final. Ethan has since been a mainstay in the starting 11, and was one of our brightest defensive and offensive sparks after returning from injury last season. Whether it’s a quick run from deep or a pinpoint delivery, Vanny is crucial to our past success and will be for our future endeavours also. Louis Sharp has been retained for the 2026/27 season! 🔴⚪️ Sharpy joined the Stripes before the 24/25 season, and enjoyed a fantastic debut year - making himself known amongst supporters for that dogged and tenacious approach. Despite an injury picked up last season, the midfielder shone in his performances and ended the season on a real high, netting his first of the season against our close rivals, Pilkington, through an audacious lobbed attempt from a tight angle. Louis is a huge part of our dressing room and a matchday without him is a quiet one. He gives everyone a good laugh and is also a great leader.
