As the CFB Season is wrapping up and we begin to move into the bulk of the Dynasty Offseason, I figure there’s no better time to officially introduce TheBakery! (I realized I had never actually explained this thing I talk about all the time lol)

Unquestionably?
This is an extremely useful clip regarding what exactly the Supplemental Draft is & how it works. Brendan Sorsby is unquestionably a 1st round talent…but will teams actually take a chance on him??

Brendan Sorsby’s profile leaves a lot to be desired man Idk if I’m bidding any more than a projected mid 2027 3rd for him Unless he goes somewhere he’s guaranteed to start or somehow an NFL team blows a 1st on him Using conservative 3rd Round Draft Capital, he’d be 2026’s QB4 in TheBakery
Sources: Texas Tech transfer quarterback Brendan Sorsby plans to enter the NFL Supplemental Draft. Amid the legal wrangling over his NCAA eligibility after admitting he bet on sports, he intends to head to the NFL.

Do I know ball or do I know ball
Replying to @FFRybread
But for real the guy gambled on his own team which was very clearly and obviously against the rules that he very clearly and very obviously knew about I’d still get that NFL Supplemental Draft paperwork ready if I’m him

COLLEGE FOOTBALL IS SAVED
Star QB Brendan Sorsby is applying to enter the NFL Supplemental Draft, sources tell NFL Network. After legal wrangling about his NCAA eligibility, Sorsby — regarded as a first-round talent — now could be the highest-drafted supplemental pick in decades.

Isaiah Bond was the best WR on that 2024 Texas team but people don’t want to talk about that
What’s the ceiling for Isaiah Bond in year two? "Everybody knows about his speed. I think what’s undervalued is his balance and body control. I think he gets in and out of his breaks and is able to keep his speed and it’s been fun to watch. He’s going to continue to take steps with the way he practices.” Todd Monken on the second-year receiver, who’s continually made plays throughout the spring program.

Of course Sark is going to hope Arch Manning comes back for 2027, it gives Sark more chances to win Arch already profiles as a 1st Round Pick but still has a lot of room to grow to be the 1st Overall Pick That being said, with the buzz he already has, I’d be shocked if he stayed another season, even though it may be in his best interest

NEW: Steve Sarkisian is not ruling out the possibility of Arch Manning returning to Texas in 2027: "You know, we haven’t had the discussion, but I will tell you, I would not be surprised. I think Arch really loves college football, I really do. I think he loves the University of Texas, you know, he does pretty good through NIL, you know, he’s got some pretty good endorsements going right now, which is a credit to him." ALT This House Is A Fuckng Prison GIF

As a veteran Texas litigator who has fought my fair share of TRO/TI battles, several things to be aware of regarding the temporary injunction order issued to allow Brendan Sorsby to play for Texas Tech this season: (1) The temporary injunction obtained by Sorsby is valid through the date of trial. So by setting the trial date for after the college football season ends the Lubbock County state district court effectively awards Sorsby ultimate relief; he can play the full season under the TI, excluding only the first two games carved out in the text of the TI order. (2) In Texas a TI is subject to immediate (“interlocutory”) appeal. The appeal will go to the 7th Court of Appeals in Amarillo, Texas. (3) The problem with the appeal is that even an accelerated appeal of the TI order is likely to take at least 9 to 12 months, meaning the college football season will be long over before the Amarillo Court of Appeals affirms or vacates the TI. (4) The only way the interlocutory appeal of the TI order gets resolved before the college football season ends is if the Amarillo Court of Appeals orders expedited briefings and decides the appeal “on the papers” without oral argument. But even such an expedited appeal is likely to run well into the college football season. (5) At bottom, as Diego Pavia and now Brendan Sorsby illustrate, these sort of emergency injunctive proceedings are a huge problem for the NCAA: hometown judges (in Texas elected at the county level) err on the side of granting the TI to allow the key player to play for Hometown U, and the college football season is much shorter than the appellate process. So the preliminary ruling on the emergency injunction effectively decides the entire case and, if granted, allows the player to play a full season.

This was always going to happen Can’t wait for another appeal and then another decision that will be appealed only for that to be appealed with another injunction
NEWS: A judge in district court in Lubbock County, Texas, has granted the injunction requested by Texas Tech QB Brendan Sorsby. He’s set to be eligible for the 2026 season.

I’m seeing so many Packer Fans justifying Watson’s contract by saying things like: “his importance isn’t just on the stat sheet” So you paid the Sacrificial X $110M? Not sure that’s a flex
If Christian Watson is getting $100M there’s a bubble 10th Highest WR Total Contract Value and 14th Highest AAV smh 🤦

This doesn’t make sense All reports said Arch was in the running for 1.01 if he were to have declared for 2026 And you’re tellin me Sorsby > Arch and that is equal to a Late1/Early2? The math ain’t mathin TheBakery has a 1st Round Grade on Arch and 3rd Round Grade on Sorsby
If Brendan Sorsby is forced to enter a supplemental draft, he will be a late 1st or early 2nd round pick, per @TonyPauline “Presently Sorsby is graded higher than Arch Manning by several area scouts as we head towards the season.”

Not to mention that any team vying for Sorsby right now are better off not using a future 1st on him when the 2027 QB Class is as impressive as it seems Teams like ARI/CLE/NYJ using a very early 2nd on a QB to still be bad and be in a position to draft a better QB in the 2027 Top5 is malpractice Bid an early 3rd at best if you’re gonna be picking Top5 regardless of Sorsby’s impact
1

If you bid an Early 3rd and get Sorsby it’s a “sick, we got good value” If you bid an Early 3rd and don’t get Sorsby it’s an “aw shucks, I guess we’ll have to take Arch/Moore/Carr/Sayin/Mensah/Sellers/Chambliss/Maiava” (All of which have higher Bakery draft grades than Sorsby)
