Great to see the Falkland Islands flag flying, in Parliament Square, alongside those of the other UK Overseas Territories, ahead of the 80th anniversary of VE Day on Thursday. #Falklands #VEDay80 🇫🇰

The perfect day for a little dome removal! The Cape Pembroke Lighthouse restoration project continues. Now that the dome is on the ground, the team will be better able to give it the TLC it needs. #CapePembrokeLighthouse #FalklandIslands

On Wednesday the Museum staff and the late Garry Tyrrell received the King's Coronation Medal for services to the community. When we took on the task of organising these events we did not expect to receive such recognition but we are grateful to be recipients of this medal.🎖️

On this day in 1982, British forces attacked Argentine positions at Mount Tumbledown and Wireless Ridge with the loss of 13 lives. Some of the final actions before the liberation of the Falkland Islands, we remember all those who served and lost their lives. 🇫🇰🇬🇧 #Falklands42

What a day! The Sea Harrier and Lynx intended for display at the #LookoutGalleryAndExhibitionHall have arrived in the Islands… just in time for Liberation Day tomorrow, 14th June. As always, we are thinking of our veterans, their families, and those who never returned home.

6/ Another Falkland Islander reported as serving on D-Day was Field Nurse, First Class Robert Rumbolds. Unfortunately, we have little more information on Robert's service other than the small note below provided to the Falkland Islands Weekly News in late 1944. 🇫🇰 #DDay80
