By aligning women's economic empowerment (WEE) indicators to match women’s experiences, we can design better products & services, track meaningful progress, & address barriers more effectively, expanding #FinancialInclusion for women across FINCA's global network. #EndPoverty
FINCA researchers Anahit Tevosyan, Scott Graham and Nathaniel Mayende, along with Joeri Smits, shed light on key factors impacting the savings behaviors of women in Uganda in a recent article published by @Bigd_BracU.
The study found that decision-making power often comes with heavy financial burdens, undermining women’s ability to save and revealing obstacles to women's economic empowerment that are underexplored in existing frameworks.
These findings emphasize the need for more localized support to better understand the hidden challenges women face in managing their finances.
