Ss using random sampling by tossing an Earth ball to make claims (backed by evidence) about the amount of water on Earth. It was hard work and they did an amazing job! @FIS_School

A cardinal rule of responsibility is to shield others from the suffering you endured. Good parents refuse to dump their childhood baggage on their kids. Good leaders and coaches refuse to perpetuate abusive patterns. You can choose to do right in the ways you've been wronged.

It's easier to admire resilience in others than to recognize it in ourselves. We often underestimate ourselves because we see other people's outer strength, but not their inner struggles. We all have doubts. Questioning your resolve doesn't make you weak. It makes you human.

Confirmed: Students took OSSE DOT buses to school and arrived without test results and then tested positive at school today. Bus attendants, drivers, nurses, teachers, staff, and students were exposed because of this today.
🚨🚨🚨 BREAKING: @OSSEDC's DOT (the buses many students with disabilities ride) has no plan for Thursday when @dcpublicschools students need to test negative to return to school. Additionally, their staff "are not required to test negative to come back to work." 🧵

G2 Tinkering... Give them 5 items ("YES.. that's all you get") and see the imaginations at work. We have a person who made it to the top of Mt. Everest, a bee, Rudolf and Santa's sleigh, and a sensory card. Completely blown away! @AmandaNaimy @FIS_School

Continuing our inquiry into how the earth’s spheres interact, Ss collected soil samples and then examined them under microscopes. The excitement and wonder that came from what they discovered was so fun to experience. @FIS_School @FIS_ES_Science #naturalresources #geosphere

G5 studying traits; inherited traits and traits we acquire from our environment. We have looked at tissues to understand that our inherited traits are written in code within every cell of our bodies; and then we extracted strawberry DNA - an oldie but goodie. Love Doing Science
