We integrated more than 100 million GEDI measurements into our forest model @FORMIND_de to study the structure and productivity of the #Amazon rainforest and found that the Amazon is no longer a large carbon sink due to deforestation @UFZ_de @GEDI_Knights

It all started with a @FORMIND_de #simulation to study the effects of increased tree mortality in the forest edge. Now we have a tropical-wide analysis. Up to 500 million tons of carbon emissions every year in tropical forest edge areas
