President Trump is giving one of the nation's biggest transit hubs an $8 billion makeover. New renderings show what Trump's proposed transformation of New York Penn Station could look like. A brighter, more open station is being shown off, with more public space and a new, dramatic Eighth Avenue entrance designed to handle the rush of hundreds of thousands of daily commuters. The project gained momentum after Gov. Kathy Hochul secured funding support from Trump, who has previously floated the idea of having the new station named after him. For now, organizers say naming discussions aren't part of the project. Officials hope to start construction in 2027, but commuters can expect years of work before the project is finished.
