40 years ago today, we lost visionary space artist Chesley Bonestell (1888–1986). Long before rockets flew from Cape Canaveral, his stunning paintings of space stations, Moon landings, and Mars missions inspired the engineers and astronauts who made them reality. @ccspacemuseum

I’ve been to a lot of beautiful places in the world, but I’ll take a golden hour run in California’s oak-studded coastal hills over just about anything.

THE BIGGEST IPOs OF THE LAST 15 YEARS HAVE ONE THING IN COMMON: THEY CRUSHED THE PEOPLE WHO BOUGHT THE HYPE. 🇺🇸 Robinhood -90%. Rivian -88%. Lyft -79%. Coinbase -57%. Facebook -54%. Median max drawdown: -54% in year one. Big brands. Big narratives. Big backing. Still brutal entries. SpaceX has the same DNA: enormous hype, low float, early investors deep in the green and waiting to sell. A great company isn't a great IPO buy. By the time everyone wants in, they are the liquidity.

Funny. People have been predicting the death of Los Angeles for decades. Yet somehow the ports are busy, the universities are thriving, the hospitals are full of world-class talent, the entertainment industry still dominates globally, and millions continue to call it home. Criticize LA all you want. But "nobody wants to live there" is a strange argument for a place people can't stop moving to.
Los Angeles cannot be saved. That’s it. That’s the post. Good luck and don’t come crying to TN or TX or FL when it fully tanks. ✌🏼

Artemis III will push the boundaries of spacecraft operations in orbit. @ESA astronaut Luca Parmitano’s assignment as pilot reflects the depth of European expertise in human spaceflight and draws on his extensive operational experience in high-pressure situations. At the same time, ESA’s European Service Module (ESM) will once again provide the critical capabilities that power Orion, demonstrating Europe’s enduring role at the very heart of the Artemis programme. The news out of Houston today is a powerful recognition of ESA’s role in enabling humankind’s return to the Moon – and a key advancement in our partnership with @NASA. Europeans can take pride in being part of this exciting journey. #ArtemisIII @astro_luca

People keep telling me to move to Texas, Florida, or Tennessee. Why? In California we have the BBQ. Texans moved here and opened restaurants. We have the music. The artists come here to perform. We have the beaches. We have the mountains. We have wine country. We have deserts. If I want Nashville hot chicken, I can get it. If I want Texas brisket, I can get it. If I want fresh seafood, I can get that too. The difference is that in California I can have breakfast by the ocean, lunch in wine country, and be skiing in the mountains the same day. California has plenty of flaws. I complain about some of them myself. But after moving to California from Arizona in 2020, my biggest regret remains the same: I should have moved here 20 years earlier.

🇨🇿 This agreement demonstrates how ESA is enabling its Member States to participate in human spaceflight through a new generation of commercial partnerships and supports the Czech Republic’s ambitions while reinforcing Europe’s broader objectives in exploration, innovation and long-term capability development. We thank @NASA for its effort in facilitating this commercial activity.
ESA will implement an astronaut mission to the International Space Station for the Czech Republic with @vast 🇨🇿👨‍🚀 Member of @esa's astronaut reserve @astro_ales is planned to serve as the mission’s pilot and would become the first Czech astronaut to visit the International @Space_Station, alongside ESA astronaut @Thom_astro as commander. The mission is planned for no earlier than 2027. More details: esa.int/Newsroom/Press_Relea… @mpo_tweetuje

I’m a California Conservative who HATES our Democrat establishment, but there is no logic to the evidence-less theory that our elections are rigged. Those duped by this theory can’t explain… -How the GOP won numerous close congressional races in 2022 -How Steve Hilton is going to beat a Democrat who spent $200 million and make the runoff -Why the LA Democrat establishment would prevent Spencer Pratt from being Mayor Bass’ opponent when he would have been WAY WAY easier for her to beat than Raman will be MAGA is really bad at a lot of things, but math and logic are their biggest weaknesses. 😡🤮🤦‍♂️

Axiom Space has teamed up again with @Prada to introduce the Liquid Cooling and Ventilation Garment (LCVG), the innermost layer within the #AxEMU spacesuit that is designed to protect astronauts from the elements when they explore the lunar surface for the first time in more than 50 years. The LCVG collaboration draws on Prada's expertise in engineered knitting and innovative design concepts, resulting in a next-generation garment that maintains cooling and ventilation while enhancing comfort during up to eight-hour spacewalks. Collaborating with industry pioneers like Prada allows us to combine our technical expertise with leaders across different sectors, fostering innovation and teamwork to deliver advanced technologies that will return America to the Moon. If he hadn’t been persecuted to death by his government, he could well have lived long enough to witness much of the computer revolution. At age 57 he would’ve seen Apollo 11 land on the Moon, using the most advanced computers of the time At age 69 he would’ve seen the release of the IBM PC In his 80s he would’ve seen the dot com bubble. If he made it to 95, he might have been there when Steve Jobs unveiled the iPhone.
Today, we remember Alan Turing, who died on 7 June 1954. A mathematician, codebreaker and pioneer of modern computing, Turing's work helped shorten the Second World War and laid the foundations for technologies that shape our lives today. For decades, his achievements went largely unrecognised, and he faced profound personal challenges because of who he was. Yet his contribution to science, innovation and society remains extraordinary. On the anniversary of his death, we honour a man whose ideas changed the world and whose legacy continues to inspire generations of thinkers, problem-solvers and innovators. Anyone buying SpaceX shares at a $1.8 trillion valuation — more than 90 times last year’s revenue — is betting that traditional metrics like cash flow and profit don’t apply here.
SpaceX IPO: Elon Musk Capital Needs Are Out of This World bloomberg.com/opinion/articl… $SPCX is not worth $1.75T at the initial IPO. Maybe 10% of that?
