1983 NSA intercepted a financial voucher paid to a Syrian paymaster agent in Beruit. The voucher was $1,000,000 transferred to the Iranian Embassy Beruit from the IRGC in Tehran, Iran. The Syrian paymaster admitted under interrogation by US intelligence officials paying out $1,000,000 to Shiite Hezbollah organizer Imad Mughniyeh, who planned the October 23, 1983 bombing in Beruit. Mughniyeh had a truck filled with 2,000 lbs of explosives detonated by a Hezbollah suicide bomber near the US Marine barracks with both Syrian & Lebanon Hezbollah members involved.
